For centuries the English filled their cathedrals with the sound of majestic music for the routine of the monks’ religious day. Matins and Mass at dawn, Vespers and Compline at dusk, Nocturne as night prayers. For all these the great composers of the Tudor era composed exquisite music, music that shines as brightly as the stained glass windows in King’s College Chapel, Cambridge.
