A smile please

My December? What does it sound like? How does it feel? After 'Summ mit' in the summer, choral luminary Lorenz Maierhofer once again invites us on a collective, sensual, intuitive sound journey - this time to our inner images for the supposedly most peaceful time of the year. The audience in the festive Stefaniensaal will vibrate, inspired by the atmospheric Advent songs penned by Lorenz Maierhofer and interpreted by the award-winning HIB.art.chor under the direction of Maria Fürntratt. And Daniel Doujenis, as the mystical calendar man, leads us into the touching poetry of Christmas. We can't wait to see what Lorenz Maierhofer has in store for us - in the best sense of the word.

Duration of the performance: 80 minutes without intermission

Daniel Doujenis

Actor

Ibsen's Peer Gynt, Büchner's Lenz, Goethe's Faust or Shakespeare's Othello - with his sonorous voice and stern look, the Greek-Austrian mime from Graz to Frankfurt has already won over audiences with many great title characters. At the same time, the editor for role design is considered an expert in contemporary drama and worked closely with the Graz theatre genius Ernst M. Binder.

HIB.art.chor

Choir

Under the direction of Maria Fürntratt, the singers of the HIB.art.chor, consisting of students of the HIB Graz-Liebenau, have been offered comprehensive vocal training since 1995. In numerous international performances from Norway to South Africa and Shanghai to San Francisco, the choir's repertoire ranges from Austrian choral tradition to contemporary music.

Maria Fürntratt has also been a senior lecturer for choral pedagogy, teaching and vocal practice and children's and youth voice training at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz since 2007.

Daniel Fuchsberger

Contraguitar

World music, Viennese songs, folk music, yodelling, crossover, etc. The Salzburg multi-instrumentalist's CV is characterised by the greatest possible variety. Although he concentrates on drums, marimba and contra guitar, he also plays a variety of other - sometimes exotic - instruments. Partly self-taught, he explores global musical traditions in a variety of authentic ensembles.
