Miriam Feuersinger

The Austrian soprano Miriam Feuersinger devotes her great love to the broad spectrum of sacred music from the Baroque to the late Romantic period. She is one of the leading sopranos in the field of German sacred Baroque music by now.

Miriam Kutrowatz

The freshness and expressiveness of her singing, combined with exceptional acting skills, predestine the 1997-born Viennese for opera. Her stunning Zerlina was a highlight of the semi-concert "Don Giovanni in Nöten" at the Styriarte 2020. Her repertoire already ranges from Handel to Humperdinck.

William Shelton

Countertenor

The French countertenor began his musical training at the age of eight and later studied singing, horn, organ, music theory, chamber music and orchestra. In addition to this comprehensive education and an international career as a singer, the child prodigy also holds degrees in physics and chemistry.

Martin Platz

As a permanent member of the opera ensemble of the Staatstheater Nürnberg, the tenor has already taken on many prestigious roles, such as in operas by Mozart and Wagner. As a Lied singer he has much experience in works by Schubert. Bach is also close to Martin Platz’ heart, who has particularily devoted himself to his oratorios.

Matthias Winckhler

Bass-baritone

The bass-baritone from Munich studied at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and was an ensemble member of the Lower Saxony State Opera in Hanover. Matthias Winckhler inspires not only in magnificent opera houses, but also on the stages of renowned festivals, such as the Salzburg Festival.

Arnold Schoenberg Chor

The differentiation and plasticity with which Erwin Ortner's hand-picked ensemble of voices realises choral works from all epochs is unrivalled. The Arnold Schoenberg Choir, founded in 1972 and a regular guest at the Styriarte festival for decades, has won countless prizes - including the Grammy in 2002 for a St Matthew Passion under Nikolaus Harnoncourt.

Erwin Ortner

Chorleitung

The doyen of Austrian choral music has been closely associated with the Styriarte festival for decades - also thanks to the congenial, "Grammy"- and "Echo"-award-winning collaboration of his Arnold Schoenberg Choir with Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Erwin Ortner is also Hofkapellmeister in Vienna and was the rector of the Vienna University of Music for many years.

Styriarte Festspiel-Orchester

Orchestra

Styriarte's orchestral "Supergroup" is made up of changing international star guests and musicians from the first-class fund of the Recreation orchestra, depending on need and occasion. The orchestra's tuning and choice of instruments follow the historical requirements of the works performed.

Jordi Savall

Viola da Gamba & Conductor

There is no early music fan who does not know the name Jordi Savall. There is no award that the "Ambassador of the European Union for Cultural Dialogue" has not won in the course of his world career. So it is all the more enjoyable that the Catalan, born in 1941, has been one of the Styriarte's closest and most loyal friends for decades.

The European Fanfare live in Stainz

Those who travel Europe via TV will hear this music before Eurovision live broadcasts: since 1954, the Prelude to Charpentier’s famous Te Deum has served as the Eurovision fanfare. Jordi Savall, a true European from Barcelona, brings together musicians from all over Europe to perform the famous work in Stainz parish church. In his Magnificat, Bach recalls a journey of great significance undertaken by the Blessed Virgin: “The Visitation of Mary”. When Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth, who was also pregnant, she sang praises to the Lord.
