Easter festival PSALM
March 29 to April 6, 2026 in Graz

When spring arrives and the days once again grow longer than the nights, people long to be outdoors enjoying the sunlight. PSALM 2026 brings the sun to Grazʼs Helmut List Halle in eight magnificent evenings celebrating the light of spring with music from many nations and religions.

Clarinetist Giora Feidman and singer Timna Brauer share the same mission: to make the world a better place through their music.

The music of the Inca from the Andes reveals how powerfully the cult of the sun and light shaped ancient cultures. This is also evident in Stravinskyʼs Rite of Spring, inspired by ancient pagan Russia, and in the Celtic music which here focuses on the legendary King Arthur and his Round Table.

For Christians, the world darkens on Good Friday because the Saviour himself is crucified. In our Passion concert, Stile Antico sings of Christʼs suffering in the breathtakingly beautiful dissonances of the Renaissance. On Easter Sunday comes the gloriously effulgent reponse in the form of two Baroque oratorios: the Queen of Sheba visits King Solomon, the inspiration for Handelʼs and Fuxʼs incredibly beautiful arias. The Citoller Tanzgeiger from Styria have the final word, for who could sing more cheerfully of the light of spring than these musicians from the Übelbach valley?
