Seit mehr als 70 Jahren tönt diese Musik durch ganz Europa, um die Sendungen der Eurovision anzukündigen: die ersten Takte des Te Deum von Marc-Antoine Charpentier. Die festlichen Klänge, die den ganzen Kontinent vereinten, lange bevor es ein europäisches Parlament gab, stellt der Europäer Jordi Savall in den Mittelpunkt des prachtvollen Styriarte-Finales. Zwischen dem dunklen Klang des „De profundis“ von Delalande und der gleißenden Helligkeit des Charpentier-Te Deums entfaltet der Magier der Alten Musik ein überwältigendes Spiel von Licht und Schatten.

Soprano

Elionor Martínez

Trained in her hometown of Barcelona and with Marcel Boone at the University of Music in Basel, the young soprano has shone as a soloist in Handel's Messiah and Bach's Magnificat, among other works, as well as on the opera stage in Mozart's Così fan tutte. Elionor Martínez also works regularly with La Capella Reial de Catalunya under the direction of grand master Jordi Savall.

Mezzo soprano

Lara Morger

Great expressiveness, boundless energy, and a touchingly warm vocal timbre characterize this mezzo-soprano, who in 2024 became the first Swiss woman to win First Prize and the Audience Prize at the Bach Competition in Leipzig. Her keen curiosity, thirst for discovery, and versatility are reflected in her wide-ranging repertoire, which spans from early Baroque to contemporary compositions. Her passion for language is evident in the meticulously crafted nuances and the brilliant clarity of the text in her interpretations.

David Tricou

The French tenor studied singing in Montpellier and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. With his distinctive haute-contre voice, he is one of the most sought-after performers of the French Baroque repertoire and works with conductors such as William Christie, Raphaël Pichon and Vincent Dumestre. He also delights audiences as a Mozart specialist and concert singer.

Ferran Mitjans

Ferran Mitjans is one of the leading tenors on the young Catalan music scene. After winning the Salvat Bach Scholarship in 2018, he specialised in the Baroque repertoire and has since collaborated with renowned ensembles, as well as working regularly with Jordi Savall. As a soloist and founder of an ensemble, he is passionately dedicated to promoting Iberian Renaissance and Baroque music.

Etienne Bazola

The French bass-baritone discovered his passion for singing at a young age. After training in Tours and Orléans, he graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Lyon with First Prize in opera singing. Today, this internationally sought-after soloist performs regularly with renowned European ensembles and at festivals, delighting audiences with his stylistic versatility.

Viola da Gamba & Conductor

Jordi Savall

There isn’t a single fan of early music who doesn’t know the name Jordi Savall. There is no award that the “European Union Ambassador for Cultural Dialogue” has not won in the course of his international career, most recently the Ernst von Siemens Music Prize, also known as the “Nobel Prize of Music.” It is all the more wonderful that the Catalan, born in 1941, has been one of Styriarte’s closest and most loyal friends for decades and includes the festival in his schedule every year.
