6 Celli at Eggenberg Palace

The Elvis Presley of Antiquity meets up with the Mick Jagger of the Middle Ages: Orpheus and Tannhäuser united in one programme. Only the Styriarte could come up with an idea like that. But not to worry: there is no singing at the first picnic concert of the Festival. Ursina Braun leads her six cellists through an inspired cross-section of Offenbach und Wagner. Thomas Höft adds his brilliant texts to the mix – lots to talk about at the picnic afterwards.

Concert in the Planetensaal followed by a picnic with music in the palace park (only in fair weather)

Richard Wagner: from “Tannhäuser“ (Venusberg-Bacchanal, Pilgerchor, Hallenarie, Lied an den Abendstern etc.)

Duration: around 60 minutes at Planetensaal, followed by encores on the picnic lawn in the palace park
