Einblicke ins Programm der Styriarte 2026

At the end of November, it's the same procedure as every year: the new Styriarte programme is here! We eagerly leaf through the booklet, scroll through the website, dog-ear far too many pages, take screenshots, euphorically mark dates in our calendars and rejoice like little children. Let's do it together again! We invite you to join us in the most beautiful building in Graz. We raise our glasses, listen to the amusing stories of artistic director Mathis Huber and dramaturge Karl Böhmer, and enjoy a rousing musical preview of the best bits of Styriarte 2026. Celebrate with us!

Since 1992, the Mainz-born dramaturge has been shaping the programs at Styriarte and inspiring our audiences with his knowledge of music history. As a staff member and managing director of the Villa Musica Landesstiftung Rhineland-Palatinate, he has written texts on more than 4,000 chamber music works and, as an honorary professor at the Mainz University of Music, conducts research primarily on the music of the 18th century.

Ensemble

Palais Attems Hofkapelle

The small instrumental ensemble was created especially for productions of the Styriarte at Palais Attems in Graz. In the manner of the court bands of stately houses, the ensemble, which is assembled from the ranks of the Orchestra Recreation, plays courtly chamber music of the 17th and 18th centuries.

Choir

Camerata Styria

Masters rarely fall from the sky. Camerata Styria has achieved this rare feat under Sebastian Meixner's direction. Since its first concerts in 2020, the year it was founded, the young choir has delighted audiences with the splendour of its sound and dynamic richness.

Choir direction

Sebastian Meixner

The music teacher and computer scientist, whose main instrument is the piano, has a golden touch for leading groups of people in song. He proves this as co-founder of the youth choir nota bene as well as with his brand new ensemble, the Camerata Styria, which he formed from former members of the Landesjugendchor Cantanima.
