Giovanni Battista Pergolesi: Livietta e Tracollo (Neapel, 1734)
Content
Fun, wit and acrobatics galore:
Neapolitans went crazy when the 24-year-old Pergolesi presented his Intermezzo Livietta e Tracollo in 1734. “La Contadina astuta” was the more familiar title of that short comic opera, which became known all over Europe in the course of just ten years. At styriarte Festival, it is Laura Orueta who will perform the canny countrywoman Livietta and her witty dialogues with baritone Dietrich Henschel alias Tracollo. The swinging period instruments of ART HOUSE 17 will create the perfect soundtrack for Adrian Schvarzstein’s infinite repertoire of witty gags.
The performance lasts approximately 70 minutes without an interval.
