The violinist studied in Vienna, Salzburg and London and was particularly influenced by Nikolaus Harnoncourt. As a concertmaster and soloist, Maria Kubizek has been active with a wide variety of orchestras and formations, drawing her inspiration from projects that go beyond the normal concert setting.

Moving between Norway and Catalonia, the ensemble specialises in early music from the Middle Ages to the Baroque, in its own creations and early fusion. With acoustic guitar, dobro, double bass and percussion, Hirundo Maris takes you into the worlds of Nordic and Mediterranean music.

Arianna Savall

Soprano & Harps

Arianna Savall wants to revive an ancient tradition with the help of early music and new musical creations: accompanying herself singing on the harp. As a soloist, she performs with various ensembles and also passionately dedicates herself to early music, improvisation and contemporary music.

Wolfgang Kornber­ger

Wolfgang Kornberger’s roots of training lie in Eastern Styria. Later, the clarinetist studied with members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where he now teaches himself. In addition to numerous engagements as an orchestral musician and tours through countries such as Korea, he has played the solo clarinet in the Styriarte Festival Orchestra since 2014.

Chambermusic Ensemble

Young, innovative and artful - that's the Austrian chamber music ensemble Oberton String Octet, which was founded at the Graz University of the Arts. In addition to brilliant interpretations of rarely performed works and contemporary compositions, the group also uses its music to support social projects.

Already since 1989 the ensemble around Lorenz Duftschmied has dedicated itself to early music and contributed significantly to its development. A wide color palette of works is what makes Armonico Tributo so exciting, and captivates their audience.

Viola da Gamba

With his ensembles, the Linz native, born in 1964, delves deep into the soundscapes of the Baroque. Lifelong research into historical performance practice and, not least, studies with Jordi Savall have made him a leading early music viola da gamba player whose concert tours regularly take him all over the globe.

All roads lead to Rome. The proverb reflects the long journeys Christian pilgrims had to endure when they set out for Rome, Santiago or Jerusalem. A pilgrimage to Mariazell could be no less strenuous, but the Styriarte makes it easy for its audience. At St. Lambrecht’s Abbey, the pilgrimage routes from concert to concert are short, and heavenly music is the reward: Corelli’s church sonatas from baroque Rome, medieval pilgrim songs from Santiago, Marian chants by the Styrian baroque master Johann Joseph Fux.

The easiest way is to go to St. Lambrecht is to take our Coach transfer.

Departure for the rehearsal at 2pm is at 11.30am in front of the opera house, price EUR 20.
Return journey after the concert. Please make a reservation in our ticket office or in our online shop.
