This year, the 19th Styriarte Klangwolke im Landhaushof: Publikum schaut Konzertübertragung auf Leinwand im historischen Innenhof. ORF Steiermark-Klangwolke will once again transform the whole of Styria into one big concert hall.

ORF Steiermark will broadcast the concert evening (July 17, 2026) from the Helmut List Hall starting at 9 p.m. on Radio Steiermark, ORF III will show the concert simultaneously on television throughout Austria.

Soprano

Miriam Kutrowatz

The freshness and expressiveness of her singing, combined with great acting skills, predestine the young Viennese for opera. She made her debut as Zerlina in 'Don Giovanni in Nöten' at the Styriarte, followed by Vivaldi's 'Magnificat' and Handel's 'Alexander's Feast'. In the 2022/23 season, she will make her debut at the Vienna State Opera as Mozart's Papagena and most recently appeared at the Zurich Opera in Handel's Serse.

Mezzo-Soprano

Maria Hegele

The German mezzo-soprano Maria Hegele is a regular guest at the Volksoper Wien and has most recently performed at the Staatstheater Darmstadt, the Staatsoper Berlin and the Bregenz Festival. Her concert appearances have taken her to venues including the Gasteig, the Herkulessaal and Müpa Budapest. In 2025, she won second prize at the International Haydn Competition.

Chor

chor pro musica graz

Mit seinem Reichtum an Stimmen und Erfahrungen ist der 1979 gegründete gemischte Chor aus dem Hause Styriarte nicht wegzudenken. Der von Gerd Kenda geleitete Klangkörper hat sein Kernrepertoire in stattlich besetzter Vokalliteratur des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts, erlebte aber auch mit Oratorien aus Barock und Klassik wahre Sternstunden.

Bass

Gerd Kenda

Sein spezielles Händchen für wundervolle Chorereignisse ist im Hause styriarte ebenso bekannt wie seine markante Bassstimme: Der gebürtige Kärntner Gerd Kenda ist seit den 1980ern einer der präsentesten Protagonisten in der Grazer Gesangsszene. Seit 1985 leitet er den chor pro musica, der einer unserer Lieblingspartner für groß besetzte Vokalpartien ist.

Orchestra

Styriarte Youth Orchestra

A symphony orchestra of highly qualified and enthusiastic young musicians: that's what Andrés Orozco-Estrada wanted from the Styriarte in 2021 - and that's what he got. Mei-Ann Chen is now taking this orchestra under her wing for the fourth year. The members of the Styriarte Youth Orchestra come from many different countries around the world and work on their programme in an orchestra camp lasting just under a week.

Conductor

Mei-Ann Chen

Born in Taiwan, Mei-Ann Chen has lived in the US since 1989 and holds a doctorate in music (conducting) and a master’s degree in violin performance. One of America’s most promising young conductors, she was the first woman to win the Malko International Conductors Competition and has been appointed chief conductor of Recreation Graz beginning fall 2021.

das Land wird zum Konzert­saal

Die ORF Steiermark-Klangwolke ist ein fixer Höhepunkt im steirischen Kulturgeschehen: Nach den erfolgreichen ORF-Übertragungen von 16 Styriarte-Aufführungen – u. a. „Porgy and Bess“, „Mozart!!!“, „Beethoven 9“, „Schubert in Stainz“ oder auch Beethovens Eroica – in den letzten Jahren wird auch heuer wieder die gesamte Steiermark in einen großen Konzertsaal verwandelt.

Das Land wird zum Konzertsaal

Auch heuer wird wieder ein ganz besonderer Styriarte-Höhepunkt übertragen: Dirigentin Mei-Ann Chen, Amerikanerin aus Taiwan mit dem sechsten Sinn für Wirkung, lässt am 12. Juli die Grazer Helmut List-Halle beben − bei Dvořáks Symphonie „Aus der Neuen Welt“ mit dem Styriarte Youth Orchestra, choreografiert von Adrian Schvarzstein.

Und wenn das keine Musik für ein „Youth Orchestra“ ist: Was Antonín Dvořák im Advent 1893 den New Yorkern als seine neunte Sinfonie vorstellte, „rockte“ nicht nur die ehrwürdige Carnegie Hall, sondern bald auch die ganze Welt – eine „Neue Welt“ der Rhythmen, Farben und Emotionen, wie geschaffen für junge Musikerinnen und Musiker.
