It‘s official: Haydn’s No.94 is the recreation audience’s favourite symphony. They were the ones who voted on what to include in the programme for the summer concert: Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.23, Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture and Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto – a bouquet of melodies for the month of June indeed! As in Haydn’s day, Wolfgang Redik conducts from the first violin desk, and the trumpet soloist performs on a historical “keyed trumpet“.
